On Wednesday January 18th, the Milligan College women’s basketball team downed AAC foe Columbia College inside Steve Lacy Fieldhouse by a score of 87-66.
The Buffaloes came out quickly and led for much of the first half, leading 42-32 lead into the half. Kayla Kelly (Chattanooga, Tenn.) ended the half with 11 points while Jaimee Hill (Johnson City, Tenn.) scored seven. The Buffaloes shot 57% in the first half on 16-28 shooting.
The second half saw the Buffaloes increase their lead to 17 early and cruise to victory, winning by 21.
Milligan was led in scoring by Kelly who finished with 18 points, with Ashlee Price scoring 14. Alisha Mainer, Chelsey Weddle and Hill also scored in double figures, with 13,12, and 10 points respectively.
With the win, the Buffaloes improve to 12-8 on the season and stand at 4-4 in conference play.
The Buffaloes next travel to East Point, Ga. on Saturday, Jan. 21st to take on Point University at 1 p.m. They return home on Saturday, Jan. 28th when they will host the Montreat Cavaliers at 2 p.m.
