The new student developed Milligan College application (app) can be downloaded on to smartphones and tablets.

The app is currently contains a map of the campus, current news and events, academic and daily schedules, student handbook and the catalog. Users can also access Milligan Today through a link the app has.

The two co-creators of the app are Dale Giblin and Tommy Parker. Dale Giblin programmed the app alone as well as created the design.

Tommy Parker worked on the technical aspects such as getting information from the Milligan website to the app. Parker is also in charge of the feedback that is received as well as formulating new ideas and directions for the app.  According to Parker most of the feedback he receives is helpful.

Olivia Merchant, freshman, uses the app said, “I think this a good tool for Milligan to use so that students know how to get around, and get connected with what is going on around campus.”

This app is for more than just current Milligan students. Giblin and Parker have been getting feedback from alumni who are grateful for a way to stay in touch with the community at Milligan.

It is also a helpful tool for Milligan’s admissions department. They are able to tell prospective and incoming students about it so they can begin to be a part of Milligan.

Even though the app is up and running, Giblin stresses that it is still being developed and kinks are being smoothed out. It will continue to be developed as well as feedback and student driven into the future.

If you would like to send feedback to Giblin and Parker, they ask that you send it to webmaster@milligan.edu
