The featured speak of last night’s Spiritual Renewal Week event was outsourced from Ozark Christian College, and students said they enjoyed hearing from a professor they were not familiar with.
“It was cool to bring everyone together and to hear from someone that you do not hear from every day,” said attending sophomore Logan Troester.
Dr. Tom Lawson, a professor from Ozark Christian College in Joplin, Mo., spoke at the 8 p.m. event in the SUB. Freshman Eric Vines led worship.
Zach Maclellan, Student Government Association chaplain, who organized the event, said Lawson brought a lesson that was simple, but effective.
“It is very uplifting,” said sophomore Sarah Blessing. “It is a good change in the middle of the week to open up our hearts.”
