Its almost here! With Thanksgiving right around the corner, Milligan College will become an abandoned campus as many students pack their bags and head home to see their families.
When classes let out Tuesday, Nov. 26 the students will flood to their vehicles and head to airports, or to the nearest gas station as they fill up for the long drive home. But what about those who cannot head home for break?
Milligan College Director of Residence Life and Housing Kate Anderson sent out an email Wednesday, Nov. 20, to all students about the housing policy. If you have to stay on campus during break, there is a $25 fee per night between Wednesday, Nov. 27 & Sunday, Dec. 1.
If anyone would like to try to find somewhere to go for a nice home cooked meal on Thanksgiving, feel free to contact Kate Anderson at KEAnderson@my.milligan.edu
How about those students from other countries? What are they doing for the break? Freshman Matias Yañez, who is from Chile, is to Michigan with two other students from Milligan, senior Nathan Meeuwenberg and freshman Taylor Tafelsky.
“I’m looking forward to seeing new places,” he said. “The only state I’ve been in is Tennessee. I’m excited to cross a lot of states.”
Matias said the weather in the United States has already been colder than anything he has ever experienced before.
“Nathan said I could use his jacket,” he said.
Matias will spending Christmas Break in Michigan as well. He said this will be his first “white Christmas” — that is, if there is snow.
