If you’re looking for places to study late at night, you might be surprised at the options available in Johnson City and Elizabethton. Although many buildings on campus close, you can still find places to study with your peers. Here’s a quick review of some of the best late night study places in the area.
Perkins – Open 24 hours, Perkins offers a great variety of food as well as a nice study environment. Whether you’re looking for a meal or dessert or snack foods, Perkins has something for you. Free Wi-Fi is available.
IHOP – Open 24 hours and sells your favorite breakfast foods throughout the night. There’s plenty of big comfy booths if you need to get a big study group together. Although they don’t have wifi, sometimes you can connect to the Chick-Fil-A Wi-Fi next door.
Waffle House – Open 24 hours. If you don’t want to go into Johnson City, but still need to get off campus late at night to study, this is a great option. A location just opened in Elizabethton just next to the shopping center across from Wal-Mart.
Starbucks – Closes at 10 p.m., but if you’re looking for somewhere off campus in the evening to study, this can be a great option for a cozy environment with some caffeine. There’s one located in Johnson City across from the mall, and another one located inside of Barnes and Noble on State of Franklin.
The Nest – Closes at 10 p.m., but also provides a relaxed study environment off campus. Not just a coffee shop, but they also sell second-hand clothing.
Cookout – Closes at 3 a.m. Sundays-Wednesdays, and closes at 4 a.m. Thursdays-Saturdays. Although it can get a little loud for studying, Cookout is a great study-break place. It has delicious milkshakes as well as an extensive burger menu. It is a great place for a midnight meal, especially on a college budget.
