Milligan clubs greeted students with friendly bribes on Wednesday morning, as they passed Rush Day booths on the Derthick lawn. Students were encouraged to sign-up for anything from a story-ing Bible study to a campus-wide pingpong tournament. “The Stampede” won best booth with its coordinating shirts and buffalo cookies, and the Stompede, the lively step team, made its second appearance this year. The morning was truly a rush. Some students could not visit all the booths they wanted to and still get to class on time.
“I got to my next class late, and my teacher was not very happy,” said a freshman who wished to remain anonymous.
“There is really no good time to do it,” said SGA President Shannon Slaughter.
“Compared to years past this Rush Day seemed to be a big success. There was a lot more publicity and activity for the clubs going on, and the free chicken biscuits were a greatly appreciated touch,” said Jennica Norman, a Milligan senior.
