The week of Feb.13 was Milligan College’s first Apparel Week, sponsored by the Campus Activities Board.

This week was designed to get students involved with campus activities and encourage students to express themselves through different outfits.

Monday started off the week with Super Fan Day and students were encouraged to show their school pride by wearing black and orange.

Freshman Lydia Lockner thinks this was a great day to show her pride.

“I was also able to meet more people in the Milligan community by being involved,” Lockner said.  “It was a good conversation starter.”

The week’s event continued with Pajama Day, Decade Day and ended with Grandparent Day.  The climax of the week was Bingo Night on Thursday evening.  Students continued with Grandparent Day by dressing up as the elderly and showing up in SUB 7 to play bingo for prizes.

Bingo day had a large turnout with several different people winning brand new headphones and gift cards.

Throughout the week students uploaded pictures of themselves participating in the events onto the Campus Activities Board Facebook page.

Rachel Hurley is a member of the campus activities board and was put in charge of this week’s festivities.

“This is the very first year Milligan has tried this event,” Hurley said.  “The turnout has been small, but if people want it back next year, it has potential to build into an annual event.  The prizes would probably increase according to the turn out.”
