The granite face panels of the honorary water fountain celebrating the service of past President Don Jeanes and wife Clarinda were hoisted by crane over Derthick commons and set in place on April 13.

Construction of the fountain’s concrete footings and foundations began in the second week of March. The fountain is to be completed Friday, April 20.

“It’s really going to be an outstanding edition to the campus and really a way to pay tribute to Don and Clarinda,” said Randy Christiansen, virtual construction and project manager for Burleson Construction.

The corner panels that will be the vertical channels for the water to flow down were raised this past Saturday.

The fountain’s approximate cost is $95,000.
