The Milligan Coffee House will host Justin Klump in Sub7 on Friday night at 8 p.m. Klump is an American modern folk singer, songwriter and producer currently residing in Nashville, Tenn.

His newest album, Sticks and Stones, released November 13, 2012 debuted at number seven on the iTunes Singer Songwriter chart. Klump is currently working on a new album which will release early 2014. His future plans include heavily touring with this new album and continuing with his craft of songwriting.

Klump has been pursuing music full-time for the past seven plus years. Growing up in a musical family influenced him to pursue a career in music. His grandfather was a symphony conductor, his grandmother and mother played in the symphony and his father played guitar and harmonica. Klump began playing guitar and writing songs at the age of fifteen. According to his website, just five years later the Seattle P.I. included him as one of the Top 21 Artists Under 21.

Tomorrow night will not be Klump’s first performance at Milligan.

“I performed at Milligan about four years ago” says Klump, “and I had a great time performing and meeting the students. I wanted to come back because of the great experience I had in the past.”

Friday’s event also includes a “Coffee Mug Night”  alongside the live acoustic music. Though admission is free, students can purchase and decorate a white mug for $2. After purchase, coffee refills are unlimited with no extract charge Friday night. Students can use these mugs to receive $.25 refills at Sub7 events the rest of the semester.

Sub7 doors open at 7:30 p.m. and music starts at 8 p.m.
