Latin music could be heard throughout Milligan’s campus Friday Sept. 14th during the first annual Latin-American Appreciation Day Party held on the Mary Sword Commons. Multi-Cultural Affairs (MCA) funded the event with the help of several volunteers.

President of MCA Debora Cano explained that they are “trying to get more diversity on campus.”

Over one hundred people including students and faculty attended the evening’s festivities. The main attraction was the taco truck and its fifty-cent tacos.

Students and faculty members who attended showed their appreciation by purchasing tacos and drinking homemade Latin beverages. Senior Greg Gibson said he loved the tacos. “The people are alright but the tacos are a must,” Gibson said.

Other fun activities included a soccer juggling contest, jalapeno eating contest, photo booth, salsa dancing and of course a piñata.
